It has probably done far more damage to the church than the New Age movement and all other cults combined. The Nature of a Religious Spirit A religious spirit is a demon which seeks. Through Scripture the living Christ meets us in the experience of redeeming grace. We are convinced that Jesus Christ is the living Word of God in our midst whom we trust in life and death. The biblical authors, illumined by the Holy Spirit, bear witness that in Christ the world is reconciled to God.

The manifestation and activity of religious spirits require a friendly union between 'flesh' (the fallen human nature) and demons. It is not solely demonic activity, so being around them requires a different spiritual response. Jesus had no trouble with demons. Demons bowed and fled. He easily cast them out. But the Pharisees were a different.   9. You know about the truth of Jesus but not the way of Jesus. Religious people make a big deal about the doctrines they accumulate through head knowledge. They make the mistake of thinking that having good doctrine means they are mature believers. Just because we may know about God doesn't mean we commune with God and know Him experientially.

The Spirit of Truth is the spirit helper deduced from reason and scripture book was promised by Jesus - the "comforter" which is to represent the Master after his return to the Father. This beneficent Spirit was bestowed on all flesh upon the occasion of Pentecost, and evermore since then, and is represented in many art works as a tongue of flame descending on the apostles.

Spirit and Life merges meditations on the Sacraments with stunningly beautiful art, bringing to life and elevating the reflections. Drawing from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, Church Fathers, clergy and laity, this book is a great resource for contemplating the gifts of the Sacraments.

God has chosen to reveal Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of truth accurately retained and revealed that true revelation from God in the God-breathed Scriptures.

The Spirit of God, the Spirit of truth, guided over the preservation of His revelation in the Bible. A religious spirit is a type of demonic spirit that influences a person, or group of people, to replace a genuine relationship with God with works and traditions. When people operate out of a religious spirit they attempt to earn salvation.

This evil spirit has established nonbiblical beliefs and customs for generations. Yet, as Believers, we shouldn’t turn a blind. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.

Berean Literal Bible. But when He the, Spirit of truth, shall come, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak from Himself. If God be Spirit, then they who worship him, the Spirit, must by the nature of the case, must by the force of a Divine arrangement, worship him, if they worship him at all, in spirit and in truth.

The truth which our Lord uttered was not unknown in the Old Testament. The Holy Spirit is called “ the Spirit of truth ” a few times in the books of John and 1 John, but today’s passage is a little different in that it states “ the Spirit is truth.

” We can learn about the authority of the Holy Spirit from this verse. The Spirit of Truth is unlimited in his perception of all truth: physical - temporary and spiritual - eternal.

He is completely trustworthy, faithful, and reliable. He knows the will of God and knows the will of God for us specifically. He knows the path God has for us, what our next step is, and when we are to take it.

The Holy Spirit does not give us a new argument for the truth of the Bible, but He confirms in our hearts the truth of Scripture as it is displayed in both the internal marks of Scripture (harmony and majesty of its contents) and the external marks of Scripture (historical accuracy).

John "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

The Book of Commandments (now called Doctrine and Covenants) was published inand it included lectures given in the School of the Prophets.

Lecture 5 says God is a Spirit and the Son only has the body of flesh and bones. (The lectures were later removed from the D&C but are available as a separate small book.).

In JohnJesus says the Holy Spirit will teach us all things and remind us of all He has taught. In context, since the first hearers of these words were the apostles, Christ is probably referring primarily to the inspiration of these apostles to write sacred Scripture.

3. 1 John Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Mark in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”.

These scribes and Pharisees are types of modern-day carnal religious people that possess a religious spirit. Many people fail to recognize that the Word of God exposes the wolves (Acts30), the dogs (Philippians ), the deceitful workers (2 Corinthians ) and, in the Gospel according to St.

Matthew, the religious spirits. We must reprogram our minds to see our life and choices from God’s perspective. A rushed 3-minute scripture reading or devotional book doesn’t amount to much meditation and reprogramming time.
